20-Minute Honey Soy Chicken Thighs
By Lim Jian Yang Published
Today I wanted to cook a quick and easy recipe with my newly purchased Hon-Tsuyu sauce. I asked Gemini and ChatGPT and the latter gave a better recipe. I tried it, it’s decent, here it is with some tweaks of my own (including thickening the sauce with cornflour).
Try these 20-minute honey soy chicken thighs.
Ingredients
- 500–600g boneless chicken thighs
- 2 tbsp Hon Tsuyu
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tsp grated garlic
- 1 tsp cornflour
- 1 tsp cooking oil
- Optional: black pepper, spring onion and sesame seeds
Method
- Mix Hon Tsuyu, honey, water, garlic, and cornflour.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through.
- Lower the heat and pour in the sauce.
- Turn the chicken in the sauce for 2–3 minutes, until glossy and thickened.
Serve with rice and steamed broccoli. Hon Tsuyu is already salty, so you shouldn’t need extra salt.
